The METP application deadline for incoming freshmen is midnight, January 5, 2022. We will also consider any application at any time for admission the following term for those not applying as incoming freshmen.
The first step is to use the Undergraduate Admissions Application to apply to the
APPLY TO METP
Once you have completed the undergraduate application, you can complete the METP application by going to the Special Programs and Scholarship Application and logging in with your temporary admissions account or application number and date of birth. Those who wish to be considered for admission into the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College or other Special Programs must apply separately by January 5, 2022, also using the same application system.
TRANSFER AND OFF-CYCLE ADMISSIONS
The Mississippi Excellence in Teaching Program at the University of Mississippi invites students who are not applying to the program as entering college freshmen to apply using the Transfer and Off-Cycle Admissions application before the beginning of their junior year. This process welcomes both transfer and current UM students. Applications will be considered as scholarship availability and other circumstances allow. Please use the METP Transfer and Off-Cycle Admissions application if you are not applying as an entering freshman.

Also the deadline for other UM competitive programs. Applications received on or before this date are given full consideration.
APPLICATION FINAL DEADLINE
Applications received on or before this date will receive full consideration, but weight will be given to those applying before the priority deadline. Applications received after this date will be reviewed on a space-available basis.
Deadline for admitted students to indicate their intention to accept admission to the program.
FINALISTS ARE CONTACTED
Finalists are contacted for interview opportunities to be conducted through Zoom or other video conferencing platforms. Interviews continue throughout February.
All applicants are notified of their admission decision.
